Boundary stone. Probably C17. Gritstone pillar approximately 1.4 metres high and in section 0.30 metres by 0.45 metres. Inscribed 'Sutton' surmounted by an in- cised cross. Bench mark at base. The stone marks the boundary between the pre- sent counties of West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire. It was mentioned in C17 and C18 boundary disputes.
