WOOLFARDISWORTHY WOOLFARDISWORTHY SS 80 NW 6/303 Gateposts and gates approximately - 200 metres east of the Old Rectory - II

Gateposts and gate. Circa 1840-50. Cast iron. 2 thin square-sectioned iron gateposts with panelled sides, the front bearing the bas relief inscription 'Robert Wright, Sandford' and applied anthemion motifs around the top and flattened octagonal caps. 2-bay gate with horizontal rails of circular iron. Each bay has straight cross braces with large circular bosses in the centre. Heavy circular bosses with lions head masks encircled by the legend 'Robert Wright, Sandford'. End stiles carried on to top rail as ornamental scrolls and central upright surmounted by a fleur-de-lys on bifurcated scroll.
