MORCHARD BISHOP POLSON HILL SS 7607 - 7707 11/177 - Pilgrim Cottage - II

Cottage. Mid C19, modernised in C20. Plastered cob on rubble footings; rubble stack with C20 brick chimney shaft; thatched roof. 2-room cottage facing east with larger heated room to left (south) and C20 extension on left end. 2 storeys.

Symmetrical 2-window front of late C19 casements with glazing bars and 1 (ground floor right) C20 window. Original central doorway now blocked and its 6-panel door now used between C20 extension and main house.

Interior has plain carpentry detail including an unfinished crossbeam to main room.

Fireplace is blocked but oven projection shows to rear.
