War Memorial

GV II

War memorial. Unveiled 1924. Ashlar with bronze figures. Plinth with steps on which is set 3-stepped base to monument. Monument: 3-stage pyramid with moulded plinth and bends. On west side figure of soldier with kit. On east side figure of sailor with telescope. On south side plaque with coat of arms with feathers on top surmounted by figure of Victory, one hand outstretched with laurel wreath, other hand with palm leaf. On north side plaque commemerating those who died in the 1st and 2nd World Wars. Sculptures by H C Fehr Sc.
