11/266 Wintle monument, in churchyard, about llm south of south aisle west of porch, Church of St. Peter and St. Paul

GV II

Short chest tomb: Thomas Wintle, died 1780; stone. Flat lid with moulded edge, slightly indented corners on long sides. North face, large circle formed by raised rim, probably serpent of eternity, leaf decoration in spandrels. South face raised panel with narrow margin; side appears to be in a different stone.

Ends elongated pilasters, capital triple flutings alternating with paterae: pendant leaf moulding on short returns; moulded edge to sunk panel on main face of shaft. Moulded top to base.
