Farmhouse. C17, in several phases; large late C19 addition. timber framed, the facade cased in C18 red brick, the remainder with mostly C20 render. C19 wing in red brick. Clay plaintiled roofs except west slope of one rear wing which has concrete tiles. 2-cell, lobby entry front range with a 2-stage rear service wing and a further short gabled rear wing. 2 storeys and attics. 2 windows, stained timber imitation sashes of c1989, segmental arches. Altered early C19 doorcase with reeded jambs, later dentil cornice; 6-panel door with the upper 4 panels glazed. Gabled hood on timber brackets. One gabled dormer with C19 2-light windows. Stack has chamfered square shaft of narrow brick. 2- bay C19 wing to right:matching imitation sash windows under gauged brick arches;2 full gabled dormers with late C19 4- pane sash windows. Rear service wing has C20 casements and an internal stack with original square red brick shaft. interior.

Georgianised, with most of the framing concealed. Front range; stack tunnelled through to form entrance hall, chamfered axial ceiling beams to the 4 main rooms, one first floor early C19 reeded fireplace, 2 disused original attic fireplaces with brick arches, roof with lower row of stepped diminished butt purlins, the upper part ceiled over.

C19 stair with stick balusters and mahogany handrail, extending to attic. Service range: rear section with some heavy exposed first floor framing, some components sooted and presumably re-used from a medieval house. Front section has ceiling beams nicked stop-chamfers.

Both phases have clasped-purlin roofs. Said to be a manorial site.
