SZ48SE GATCOMBE 1353-0/3/104 Stable Block to Gatcombe House 18/01/67

GV II

Former stables. C18 altered in mid C19 and C20. Built of Isle of Wight coursed stone rubble with white brick parapet and dressings. 2 storeys and attics, 6 windows. Central pediment with oculus having 2 round-headed arches, rising the full height, formerly open but in late C19 filled in with 2 round-headed windows and 2 doorcases. The wings each have two 12-pane sashes on 1st floor. Ground floor right hand wing has two 12-pane sashes and 2 doorways. Left side has had C20 garage doors inserted. C19 sashes to rear without glazing bars. Set back lean-to additions on each side.
