YATTON C.P. STREAMCROSS (north side) Claverham ST 46 NW 5/189 Manor Farmhouse 11.10.61 - II Farmhouse, now house. Early C17, later C17 stair tower enclosed by rear wing, refronted and some internal alterations mid C18, with later alterations.
Rubble, rendered, pantiled roof with ridge and gable stacks. Original 3-room through passage plan, extended by rear wing to L-plan, with attached outhouses at angle to right. 2 1/2 storeys and 6 windows, all sashes, irregularly spaced, except ground floor left C20 French window, 3 plate-glass single lights under eaves, 3rd bay from right has fine studded door with fleur-de-lys strap hinges and flat hood. Attached to left, former stable, slightly lower, with C20 French window, now in separate occupation. Left return has lower gable end of stable with single and 2-light C20 casement at first floor, lean-to to left with 2-light casement, single light, door and 4-pane light to side; main house has 2-span roof formed by infill of L-plan. Right return has single storey outbuilding on same axis as main house with door and window opening to rear; rear wing to right has catslide to side with 2 raking dormers of 2 panes each, 2 unglazed openings at ground floor; single storey addition at angle to right with small opening and double doors to eaves height. Rear of main house has addition to right infilling L-plan, first floor has two 2-light casements to right, single light and 2-light casement to left, ground floor has two 2-light casements, flat-roofed porch with inner plain door with inset glazed panel, single light, French window and 2-light casement, all C20; lean-to to right has 2-light casement and single light; to left, external stair to upper door of attached outbuilding, door to left; roof hipped over rear wing of L-plan. Interior: rear door to through passage also studded with fleur-de-lys strap hinges; room to right of passage has fireplace (ridge stack) with chamfered stone jambs and flat moulded lintel, oven recess to left, chamfered beams, end wall has C18 cupboard with shaped shelves, rear wall has linen press with drawers and panelled doors. 2 rooms to left of passage, now one, C18 cupboard with shaped shelves, chamfered beams, end fireplace, blocked, has high cambered and chamfered lintel with oven to right, rear wall has heavy door with strap hinges and chamfered frame cut back for passage of barrels.
Wall of rear wing battered internally. At first floor, room to end left has chamfered and scroll stopped beams, C19 panelling and cupboards to end wall with L-hinges. Central room has screen wall along rear passage, ventilation in walls, possibly used as cheese room; roof along main range, not fully visible, has principal rafters, collars, some cambered, one row of purlins and ridge purlin with plated yoke.
