A C18 or early C19 timber-framed and weatherboarded house with a later gabled wing at the north end with tile hanging. 2 storeys, 5 window range on the main block and 1 window range on the wing, casement windows, There is a C20 shop front on the ground storey. The doorway has a moulded architrave and hood. Roof to the main block is tiled and to the wing is slate.

The Church of St Mary, Premises occupied by L Pegram and Son, Churchways and Church Cottages Nos 1 and 2 form a group.
