PURLEIGH CHELMSFORD ROAD TL 80 SW (north-east side) 1/84 Barn approx. 25 metres east of New Hall Farmhouse II Barn. C18. Timber framed, weatherboarded, roofed with interlocking concrete tiles. 5 bays aligned approx. E-W, with midstrey to N. Lean-to extensions both sides of midstrey. Jointed and pegged hardwood frame, heavy studding with primary straight bracing. Face-halved and bladed scarfs in wallplates. Bolted knees to straight tiebeams. Joggled butt-purlin roof.
