Coal and Wine tax post. Circa 1861. Made by Henry Grissell. Metal. Circa 4 foot high. Chamfered pier on four legged plinth, moulded capital band above with pyramidal top. City of London shield cast on front. Lettering on pier reads "24 & 25 VICT/CAP 42". Makers name on back and front. A Coal and Wine tax post indicating the boundary at which duty was payable, that on coal dating back to the 1660's.
