BERGH APTON THE STREET, North TG 30 SW side The Manor House 2/25

Country house, early/mid C19. Gault brick with hipped slate roof. Two storeys and attics, L-shaped plan. Principal facade to west; symmetrical, six windows arranged in three bays. Sashes with glazing bars in outer bays.

Gauged brick arches over openings. The two centre bays slightly advanced with entrance portico with two Doric columns in antis. Six-panel entrance door with architrave and rectangular fanlight. Flat roof above entablature forming verandah with good wrought iron balustrade; two pairs of glazed first floor doors to verandah. Plain corner pilasters. Modillion eaves.

Two chimney stacks behind ridge line. Symetrical garden elevation to south with advanced centre bay containing two tall sashes with glazing bars; sashes extend to floor level giving access to steps down to garden. Platband at first floor level. Hipped two storey extension to north east.
