BISHOPS WALTHAM FREE STREET SU 55 17 9/3 Northbrook House 6.3.67 II

Large house, now offices. Late C18, extended early C19. Stucco walls, plinth, 1st floor band, moulded cornice and coping to parapet, tile-hung south wall, rear wall without 1st floor band; stone cills. Slate roof. The original block has a projecting wing at the north side, and beyond is a later extension, set back: lower service wings at the north corner. South-east front elevation of two storeys, 3.3.2 windows. Sashes in reveals. Porch of Doric Order at the third bay, with dentils and triglyphs, two smooth pilasters and columns, wide arched opening with radiating fanlight, coupled half-glazed doors. Inside there are some original fireplaces, ceiling cornices, and panelled doors in architraves.
