BISHOPS WALTHAM DEAN LANE SU 52 SE 2/7 Dean Farmhouse 6.3.67 GV II

House. Early C17, with C20 rear and north-side extensions. Walls of knapped flint with brick dressings of enriched form; rusticated quoins surrounding the openings, also as verticals and horizontals above and below bands, moulded plinth band, 1st floor band with mouldings projected in the centre, eaves band incorpor- ating projected brick dentil band (broken before the openings), deep end pilasters chamfered openings: other walls of brickwork in English bond, south gable tile- hung. Prominent tile roof, hipped at the north end, with cat slide to part of rear, hipped to the (lower) C20 extensions. The building has a north extension in matching style, and a plain narrow rear wing, to form an L shape; the west has two storeys, 1.4 windows, thick wooden window frames with chamfered reveals, nullioned, with transoms at the north side. Tudor arched brick doorframe, and boarded door. The rear elevation is plainer, with varied windows, including two hipped dormers. The interior has panelling
