HORNCLIFFE A 698 NT 95 SE (South side) 2/55 Gatepiers and screen walls at East Lodge to Longridge Tower

GV II Gatepiers and screen walls. c.1876, eagle finials C17 or early C18. Ashlar.

Square piers, shafted at the corners with small close-set consoles below the cornices. Large rustic eagles, with outstretched wings, on roll-moulded bases.

Short, low concave quadrant walls with moulded plinths and steeply-ridged coping. Similar end piers with ball finials.
