II
Civic building one time Market Hall. C17 with major reconstruction 1872. Rendered, concrete tile. Two storeys, windows grouped one/five/one two-light casements with transom and segmental heads. Pairs of panelled doors end bay left and right. Wide fronted formal composition, Gothic revival style of 1872. From original late C17 structure two stone Doric columns at front and five at rear all now built in with later work but originally free-standing to market space; at rear in original unpainted stone.
