II GV 2.

Early to mid C19 with later alterations and additions. Originally 2 cottages which were turned into one by the architect Arnold Mitchell. 2 storeys. 2 window bays. Matched roof. Slate hung. Splayed 3-light bays to 1st and ground floors; sash windows with margin lights. 2 handsome C18 rainwater-heads imported from elsewhere by Arnold Mitchell, the architect, and attached to either side of the front; ceilings within by Arnold Mitchell. The Marine Circulating Library was established here in 1839. Landslip 1971.

Nos 4 to 6 (consec) together with Nos 6A, 7, 8, 8A, 9, 11, 12 and Sundial form a group.
