WALSALL MB BRADFORD STREET (east side) SP 0198 SW 15/13 No 31 GV II

House,now Restaurant Probably 1830s. Stuccoed brick. A symmetrical composi- tion of three storeys and three bays. Facade has flanking pilasters, first floor sill band, pilasters rising from the sill band to flank the middle bay, and a plain band below a blocking course. Ground floor windows are sashed and have projecting sills. Upper windows have architraves and are sashed with no glazing bars. Doorway approached by external steps with iron railings. Pedimented Tuscan porch may not be original. Left-hand return wall, facing Caldmore Road, of one bay treated in a similar way to main facade, except that first and second floor windows are blind, without architraves, and first floor window has cornice on consoles. Forms part of a formal composition with Nos 32 and 33 Bradford Street (qv).
