HANLEY CASTLE CP CHURCH END SO 84 SW 3/139 Hobbits GV II

House. Late C17 with mid-C18 alterations. Timber-framing with brick infill on brick base with tile roof. Framed in two rows of square panels above high sill beam. One storey with attic, three bays. Attic lit by gabled dormers. Door, between first and second bays, has open timber porch with shaped bargeboards. Chimneys on gables and to left of door.

Left-hand gable wall rebuilt in brick, with chimney stack inscribed "1751".

Interior: door opens into lobby against re-constructed inglenook. Middle ground floor room has chamfered spine beam, and a wall framed in square panels which divides it from the right-hand room.
