7/27 The Old Ship Inn

GV II

House. Mid C18 with earlier origins. Red brick rendered and formerly colour-washed, pantiled roof. Centre-lobby entry plan. 2 storeys, 3 bays.

Ground floor: C20 glazed door with overlight flanked by 16-pane sashes with sills and boarded shutters. First floor: 3 sliding sashes with glazing bars. Dentilled brick eaves cornice, end and axial stacks, plain close verges. Interior: many original features survive including a large inglenook fireplace with oak bressumer. The rendering to this house probably conceals a timber frame.
