The southern gable has glazing bar sashes, except for the 3rd window on the 1st floor, which is narrow and has a fixed light. Below it there is a lean-to glazed porch. On the ridge there are 4 chimneys. The east wall faces the railway. The west wall faces Cart Lane and has openings with plain reveals. Towards the northern end of the wall there is an attached cast-iron nameplate inscribed 'CART LANE' and, in smaller letters, 'BRIGGS BARROW 1883'.
