Preaching Cross. C14 with later additions. Ashlar sandstone. 6-sided base with 4 steps, supporting traceried arcade with angle buttresses enclosing shaft-base with traceried blind arcading. Shaft has 6 columns supporting ribbed vault, with machicolation above, and plain shaft with decorated cross-base. This is the only remaining example of a friar's preaching cross in England. Scheduled Ancient Monument. (RCHME).
