GV II

Large Edwardian house. Portland stone ashlar front, slate roof. Unusually tall narrow frontage in a Free Style composition of C17 and C18 character. 5 main storeys plus attic in gable. 2 bays wide. Wide rusticated segmental arched doorway of squat proportions to right and above it windows of Venetian type, with blocking and rustica- tion, at mezzanine levels lighting the main staircase. The left hand bay of front is composed of a ground floor timber casement window, with small panes, within a loggia beneath a 1st floor canted mullioned and transomed window surmounted by a segmental pediment. The upper floors have mullioned casements with banded architraves. The attic lights have mid C20 casements brought forward to edge of reveals. Shallow coping to gable.
