Terrace house 1726 by Colen Campbell for himself. Dark brick, narrow fronted 4 storeys, basement, single dormer in slated mansard attic. Two windows wide. First floor stone sill band, stone cornice at third floor level and subsidiary cornice to parapet with coping. Wooden doorcase of three-quarter Ionic columns and entablature.
Revealed sashes in stuccoed architraves. In front basement area is a lead cistern with monogram "C.C" and date. Iron area railings. Interior has undergone some simplification but panelling and chimney pieces to Campbell's design. Library well preserved. No 76 was Campbell's residence from 1726-29. GLC plaque.
