Row of 4 houses.1898-99 by Balfour and Turner. Red brick with lavish stone dressings.

Carefully detailed Arts and Crafts inspired design. Five storeys and basement. Eleven window bays to Brook Street plus corner tower and return to South Molton Lane of No 40. Ground floor with projecting debased Doric porches and bay windows. Corner tower boldly corbelled out above first floor. Mullioned leaded casements. Continuous wrought iron balcony to second floor of Nos 42 to 46. Five principal stepped and banded brick and stone gables at roof level. Built for the Grosvenor Estate.
