6/98 The Manor -

GV II

Formerly a late C15 or early C16 farmhouse of hall and crosswing plan considerably altered in C17 with an addition of two bays and two storeys to west and the rebuilding of the east crosswing in line with the hall of one storey and attic. Thatched roofs timber frame exposed. Large modern brick stack replacing original C17 stone stack. Two gabled dormer windows with iron frames and lattice lights, three horizontal sliding sash windows with glazing bars and C19 panelled shutters. Modern porch approached by steps. Interior has two restored inglenook hearths. One original carved four-centred arched doorway to crosswing. Stop-chamfered ceiling beams.
