Coal and Wine tax post. Circa 1861. Made by Henry Grissell. Metal. Circa 3 foot high. Chamfered pier on four legged plinth. Moulded capital band and pyramidal top. City of London shield on the front. Lettering on the pier reads "24 VICT" Makers name on front and back. A Coal and Wine tax post indicating the boundary at which duty was payable; that on Coal dating back to the 16608s.
