Coal and Wine tax post. Circa 1861 by Henry Grissell. Metal. Circa 3 foot high.

Four legged plinth chamfered pier above with moulded capital band and pyramidal top. City of London shield on the front, lettering on the pier reads "24 & 25 VICT/CAP 42". Makers name on the rear. A Coal and Wine duty post indicating the boundary at which tax was payable, that on coal dating back to the 1660's.
