SD 73 SE PADIHAM MILL STREET

3/42 No.29 19.7.1984 - II

House, disused at time of survey. 1854 for headmaster of the former National School which stands on the opposite aide of the courtyard to the right (q.v. below). Dressed sandstone, stone slate roof. 2 storeys and 2 units in C17 vernacular style. Gable copings on kneelers topped by obelisk finials and chimney stacks above rear gable and centrally on ridge. Gable end to street has chamfered elliptical-arched doorway to left of a 2-light chamfered mullioned window on ground floor and a similar 3-light window placed centrally above. Square hood moulds to all openings. Elevation to courtyard has openings with similar details at right hand end.
