13/128 London Coal Duty Marker on E side of Broad - Colney Bridge

London coal duty marker, erected 1861-2 to mark the limit of coal duty in the London area. Cast iron post, painted white, originally one and a half metres high, but partly submerged in ground. Square plan with chamfered corners. Roll mouldings from capital, which has on its front face the arms of the City of London. Raised lettering on front face of pier: '24 VICT'.
