Known once as Hore's tenement. (Oxford History Society LXVII 55, 60). In 1679 Elinor Sylvester "was burnt out and built a new" and her fine on renewal of lease, reduced, (ib LXIX, 369). It is not easy to say if the core of the present house is that of the 1679 building.
