SWINTON & PENDLEBURY VICTORIA PARK SD 70 SE 2/18 Band Stand - - II

Band stand. Erected to commemorate the sixtieth year of the reign of Queen Victoria, 1897. Brick plinth, cast-iron structure and slate roof. Octagonal canopy on corner columns. Wrought-iron rails-span between the elaborate cast- iron columns. The columns join the canopy by means of enriched cast-iron brackets based on the acanthus scroll.

Octohedral roof in 2 stages, the upper one swept and separated by a decorative pierced vent. Weather-vane.
