2 houses, now offices (No.18) and private hotel (No.16). Late C16, early C19 facade, much atered C20. Timber-framed with brown brick skin. Slate roof, pantiled to rear. 3 storeys and dormer attic Each house of 2 bays. Central passage to rear under C19 timber arch. To left is a C19 shopfront to No.18, in 3 parts, entered from doorway in central passageway. Above are 2 horned plate-glass sashes to each floor under gauged skewback arches. No.16 with 2 sashes to each floor under gauged skewback arches, those to the upper floors with glazing bars. Timber dentiled eaves cornice below gabled roof. Two C20 gabled dormers and 2 solar panels (to No.16). Internal gable-end stacks. North side of central passageway with timber studwork. Rear wing of No.16 retains elements to timber-frame, but is mostly C17 colourwashed brick. Sash windows in reduced openings. INTERIOR. Ground floor of No.18 completely modernised late C20. Upper floors not inspected. INTERIOR of No.16 not inspected but is possibly of interest.
