Gateway to Heveningham Hall, with flanking pair of gate lodges. Dated 1787 on Coade stone embellishment; probably by James Wyatt. Ashlar gate piers, square, each with embellished frieze, moulded cornice and surmounted by a stone urn. Wrought iron gate with matching railings to either side linking the piers with the lodges. Lodges: stucco on brick, pyramidal felt - covered roof with stack at the apex. Single storey, square on plan. Fluted Coade stone frieze enriched with swags, etc., dentil cornice; to the front is a blocked window with raised surround, fluted Coade stone frieze and cornice.
Each return front facing the driveway has a doorway with cornice on enriched console brackets and 6-panel fielded door. Living accommodation was provided in a wing to the right hand side of the right hand lodge.
