FRAMSDEN OTLEY ROAD TM 25 NW 5/48 Harvesters Farmhouse

Former farmhouse, c.1600. 2 storeys. 3-cell cross-passage entrance plan.

Timber-framed and plastered, the framing exposed externally with arch-wind braced studwork. Pantiled roof, once thatched, with axial C16/C17 chimney of red brick. Mainly mid C20 casements with leaded glazing; several original diamond-mullioned windows are exposed and glazed. Mid C20 boarded and battened entrance door at cross-entry position. Complete unmoulded framing exposed internally: main beams have distinctive and elaborate chamfer stops; unchamfered joists. Back-to-back open fireplaces; one lintel has twice branded "E. MULLY" perhaps the identification of the purchaser of the timber.
