3/69 Copley Dene and wall attached to left, formerly 21/2/50 listed as The Rectory

GV II*

House. Early/mid C18 with later alterations and additions. Red brick. Hipped red plain tile double range roofs with end chimney stacks. 2 storeys and attics. Stone coping to parapet, brick band under. Central brick band.

Symmetrical, with two 2 storey, 3 light angled bays. Small paned vertically sliding sashes with gauged brick arches, small paned vertically sliding sash with moulded brick lugged surround and keystone over central doorway. This with timber pilasters with moulded capitals and bases, frieze, dentilled soffits to moulded pediment and reveal panels. C20 part glazed door. 3 C20 lights to attic. To the right is a 2 storey, 2 bay extension with flat headed archway adjoining original build. To the left a red brick wall with moulded capping forms a semi-circle to southwest of the house. A similar, but now unattached wall q.v. 3/70 is to the north west. Interior features include ground and first floor panelled rooms, the ground floor fireplace with fluted side columns, the first floor fireplace with pilasters. Moulded ceiling cornices. Moulded architraves to 6 panelled doors. One door with fluted surround, patera and semi-circular fanlight over. Marble fireplace with fluted columns to rear room and several other C18 and C19 fireplaces. Panelled shutters to most windows.

Moulded arch on landing. Open well staircase with wreathed handrail, 2 moulded balusters to each tread, mouldings to open treads.
