Pair of attached houses. C17 origin, altered as 2 houses probably early C19, with some C20 alterations. Sandstone rubble, slate and asbestos slate roof with brick gable stack to left (originally external stack) and rubble stack with shaped top and slate weathering to right gable end.
This appears to be the lower end, through passage and hall of a 3-room and through passage house, the inner room probably, to right, is now No. 59 Fore Street (q.v.).
No. 60 to right is the former passage and hall, No. 61 to left is the former lower end.
2 storeys and 3 windows, first floor has two 12-pane and one 16-pane sash in exposed boxes, ground floor has 12-pane sash, half-glazed door with hood; to right, a wide door with heavy timber lintel (former passage entry), and 16-pane sash lath heavy timber lintel.
Interior: not accessible, but may retain features of C17 and C18.
