BANBURY HORSE FAIR SP4540SW (East side) 9/94 No.8 (Banbury Museum) 07/10/69 (Formerly listed as No.8, offices of Health and Water Services) GV II

Offices of Poor Law Guardians, now museum. Dated 1900. By W.E. Mills of Banbury.

Ironstone ashlar. Stone slate roof. Stone stack to right end. Stone copings.

Plinth. Jacobean style. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Central entrance has panelled door, rusticated stone surrounds and scrolled pediment with cartouche. Entrance is flanked by 4-light stone-mullioned and transomed windows with square heads.

First floor has 3 similar windows with semi-circular ornamental gable above.

Parapet. Moulded bands. Interior: open well stair.
