8/178 Blacksmith's Shop and adjoining house

GV II

Blacksmith's shop and adjacent house, early Cl9. Coursed rubble with tooled and margined quoins and dressings; stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays, irregular. Central elliptical-arched carriage entrance and 12-pane sash above. To left blacksmith's shop has stable door flanked by renewed windows in old openings. To right house has 4-panel door under 3-pane overlight; and 12-pane sash at right; similar windows over. All openings have alternating jambs. End and ridge stacks of yellow brick, ridge stack carries weathervane with horse. Rear outshut.
