Group of Cl8 and early to mid C19 fronts, in some cases to older buildings.

Nos 11 and 12: late Cl8 to early Cl9 probably, with tile mansard roof behind; later refronted. Shallow pitch slate gabled roof to front. 3 storeys, 2 bays. Red brick. Windows in reveals; no glazing bars on lst floor. Plain shop front on ground floor.

No 13: late C18 to early to mid C19. 3 storeys, 1 bay. Slate gabled roof.

Stone rubble front behind, roughcast front to street. Windows in reveals; glazing bars intact; iron guardd to ground floor window. 6-flush panelled door in reveals; top 2 panels cut away and glazed. Architrave frame; pilasters; cornice broken forward over brackets. Plain giant pilaster to either end.

Nos 14 end 15: late Cl8 to early to mid C19. Higher frontage, 3 storeys; 1 bay to No 14 and 2 to No 15. No 14 cemented, No 15 red brick. Sash windows 4 panes wide except on upper floors in No 15. In No l4, new doorcase with fluted pilasters, necking band carried round as doorhead, entablature and triangular pediment. 6-fielded panel door; rectangular fanlight with diamond and rectilinear tracery. In No 15, doorway with architrave frame, pilasters and thin triangular pediment on cut console brackets. 6-flush-panelled door with top 2 panels cut away and glazed.

Nos 16, 17 and 18: late C18 and later red brick front to Cl7 or earlier timber-framed buildiig. 2 storeys and attic. 1 window bay and door each. Steeply pitched old tile roofs; massive stacks on ridge between Nos 17 and 18 and tall stack to left hand on ridge in No 16. 1 hipped dormer each. Red brick front; brick dentil eaves to Nos 17 and 18. Windows 4 panes wide on lst floors and on ground floor in No 16. In No 17, C19 shop front comprising small 3-light window to right hand and door to left hand, both flanked by pilasterp with fascia and cornice over. In No 16, 6 flush panelled door with top 2 panels cut away and glazed; thin triangular pediment on cut console brackets. In No 18, 4 flush-panelled door; thin flat hood on cut brackets.

No 19; Late C18 to early to mid C19. 3 storeys. 1 bay. Old tile gabled roof. Brick dentil eaves; brick front. Windows 3 panes wide with flush frames and segmental heads. Doorcase with narrow pilasters; moulded cornice on cut console brackets. 4 flush-panelled door; rectangular fanlight.

All the listed buildings, with Nos 1 to 9 (consec) Lowndes Buildings, in Castle Street (West Side) form a group.
