Piper's Cottage

House with attached barn. Appears C17. Plastered cob walls, thatched roof. Brick stack. Originally a two-room plan house with central cross-passage; heated room to south, unheated room to north. Third room north of this probably later addition.
One storey and attic. Front elevation has ledged door with glass panel. Ground floor has two casement windows with cast iron lights and one modern metal casement.
Attic has two dormers with casements, one with cast iron lights. Small single- storey lean-to at rear, with tiled roof. One brick buttress to rear wall. Large double doors in rear wall of barn. Loft door in south gable wall of this at high level. Internally, the fireplace in the south room has oak lintel and jambs.
Chamfered oak beams iron ceiling of ground floor rooms. RCHM Monument 10.
