1/97 Barn about 15 metres west- south-west of New Lodge House

GV II

Barn. Late C18. Timber framed, weatherboarded, on red brick plinth in English bond. Plain tile roof. 8 timber-framed bays, with midstrey to third bay from right (north), and possibly formerly also to sixth. Half-hipped roof. Porch with hipped roof and full-height double doors to right of centre. Lean-to to whole of front side, open to front on posts on brick padstones.

Interior: cut,bevelled jowls to principal posts. Short straight braces to tie-beams. Clasped-purlin common-rafter roof with ridge-piece, vertical queen struts to collars, and unstrutted intermediate collars. Virtually unaltered studding and straight tension braces. Lath and straw daub infilling above midrail to two bays flanking porch. Three left end bays floored with loading door to left gable end. Clasped-purlin roof with curved raked queen posts, to lean-to.
