TL 50 NE ABBESS, BERNERS AND SCHOOL LANE (N SIDE) BEAUCHAMP RODING 5/11 Proctors Farmhouse II
House. Late C16 timber framed and plastered, 2 storey, former farmhouse. Main block parallel to road has peg tile roof, hipped at W, half hipped at E. 2 storey c.1900 extension at rear with gabled peg tile roof. Front has modern gabled porch with shingled roof and modern casements with small panes. Gable and red brick C19 stack and off-centre small red brick stack over C17 inglenook fireplace. Originally a small open hall, with solar at W, raised to form a mansard roof and then further enclosed to form a2 storey block. The interior shows remains of compression braces at corners of frame and halved and bladed scarf joints.
