WINSFORD FORMER U.D. CINDER HILL SJ 66 NW Whitegate and Marton 4/123 The Old Post Office, Cinder Hill.

- II House.C17. Timber framed with brick infill and stretcher bond brick walling. Thatched roof covered with corrugated asbestos sheeting.

Two storeys. Baffle-entry 2-cell plan. Entrance front: two bays.

Two 3-light C19 windows at right with a door to left. One 4-light first floor window at right of centre, now partially obscured by asbestos roofing but probably originally a swept dormer. Right hand gable end has 5 x 2 cells of small framing with angle braces and a 2-light cambered headed ground floor window and end-truss of queen posts with V-strut to apex. Outshut to rear with painted walls of red sandstone.

Interior: Ingle nook hearth to parlour with C19 chimney piece and C19 cupboards to left. Cl7 chamfered mullions to first floor window.
