PONTEFRACT MARKET PLACE SE 4521 NE (north-west side) 8/44 No 10 3.3.75 GV II

House, now partly shop. C18, raised and altered in early C19, and with later alterations. Red brick in Flemish bond with stone and stucco dressings, slate roof.

Three storeys, 2 first-floor windows. Slightly advanced C20 shop front to ground floor. First floor has 2 plate-glass sash windows, placed slightly asymmetrically, and second floor has wider central plate-glass sash. All windows with projecting stone sills and wedge lintels with incised voussoirs and raised fluted keystones.

Second-floor lintel set in later brickwork. Brick end stack to right. Included for group value.
