GV II

Barn. Probably early C18, re-roofed in the C19. Rendered cob with slate roof hipped at front end, gabled at right end.

Single storey. The barn has 2 doorways on the front elevation, one with an old chamfered doorframe, further doorway on left end, gabled projection on rear to the right. Corrugated iron lean-to on side facing Windout Farmhouse.

Interior C19 king post and strut roof trusses, some earlier cross beams survive.

The barn contains a large fixed timber straw trusser with a patent plate, the last patent dated 1892. The makers name, on a second plate, is J. and F. Howard of Bedford, England.

The barn runs parallel to the front of Windout Farmhouse (qv). The trusser is an unusual survival.
