ST4817 STOKE SUB HAMDON CP EAST STOKE (South side) 7/301 Gateway and north boundary wall to churchyard, 16 metres north of porch Church of St. %dry the virgin 19.4.61 GV II Gateway and boundary wall. Gateway C17, walling probably C19. Ham stone ashlar: wall averages about 1.25 metre high, with angled copings; east section has stepped coping; gap in centre; towards west end tall chamfered cambered-arched gateway with incised spandrils; the coping heavily moulded and returned dawn sides; C20 timber gates: the whole adds to the Church of St. Mary the Virgin (q.v) and the streetscene generally.
