SE 18 NW MIDDLEHAM SWINE MARKET (north side) 9/86 Hill House East, gate- piers and railings 15.2.67 (Formerly listed as part of Hill House (2 dwellings) under West GV II End (formerly Swine Market))

House, gate-piers and railings. Mid C18. Roughcast rubble, ashlar, stone slate roof, cast-iron railings. House: 2 storeys, 3 bays and rear wing. In bay 3, door of 6 fielded panels and overlight with decorative glazing bars within doorcase with Tuscan pilasters and entablature. 4-pane sash windows in ashlar surrounds. Stacks between bays 2 and 3 and end right. To right, rusticated ashlar gate-piers with plinths, cornices, and depressed pyramidal caps. In front of house, low rubble wall with saddleback ashlar coping; railings with staggered fleurs-de-lis finials and urn finials to standards.
