GV II

Bank barn including stable granary and shippon with adjoining shippon and cart sheds. Circa early C19 with mid C19 additions. Local slate and river stones, first floor of the front is slate hung. Bitumen coated scantle slate roof with half-hipped ends.

Plan: Rectangular plan with wing to right forming and L-shaped plan. The main range is a shippon with a hay loft above with loading doors at back onto the road which is at higher level; the left end is probably a granary above a stable with access from external stairs at the front. The right hand end is an addition of circa mid C19 and extends in a shippon wing to the front and returns again as a small cart shed with an open front facing the main range. At the left hand end of the main range a lean-to cart shed of circa mid C19.

Exterior: South front: first floor is slate hung, steps up to loading door at the left of the front for access to the granary; to left a stable door with flanking windows; and shippon doors to right with a slated pentice roof above on wooden cantilevers. The shippon wing to the right has 4 ground floor doorways, with flat red brick arches and 1 hay loft door above; at right angles to the shippon wing, to the right a small cart shed with a hipped roof and an open front facing the main range. At the left end of the main range a lean-to cart shed with an open end.

At the back of the main range 3 first floor loading doors with canopies over on wooden cantilevers, the left hand doorway is in the mid C19 addition; 2 small windows almost at ground level of the original range lighting the shippon.
