House. C17. Timber-framed and rendered but with some red brick; gabled plain tile roof; central ridgeline stack. EXTERIOR: single storey with attic; 2 parallel ranges with single storey outbuilding on north corner projecting forward to front. Front has catslide porch in plain tiles with one glazed side, linking with outhouse; C20 door and 6-pane metal window. This wall is of red English-bond brickwork, now part rendered. South-west elevation has two 6-pane casements in front range and one 12-pane, 2-light, casement on ground floor of rear range. Rear elevation (south-east) has roof of 2 differing ridgelines with stack at this change in level. Part concealed by C20 conservatory; 6-pane casement and tall thin C20 slit window. North-east elevation has four C20 plain windows and a 6-pane casement in gable of front range. Outhouse attached to front is part red-brick and part exposed framing with gabled plain tile roof. INTERIOR: front range of 2 bays of wide spare framing with jowled posts and A-frame roof. Spine beam with stopped chamfers. Narrower rear range with similar spine beam and room on southern corner with late C18 dentilled cornice and one door with moulded architraves and raised-and-fielded panels and another with 4 raised-and-fielded panels over flush panels. 2 inserted stacks of relatively late date. HISTORY: possibly an agricultural building of the late C16 or early C17, converted to house in late C18.
